Wedding bells are ringing throughout the county, which might be a pleasant or stressful sound for you.

DIY brides are abundant, and I have one more unique idea for you: wine-cork boutonnieres.

This idea fits well with almost any wedding theme: rustic, outdoorsy, garden or wine connoisseurs, to name a few.

If you like to enjoy a nice bottle once in a while, just collect the corks. Then you can add fresh flowers or fake flowers to the corks, giving your special day another personal touch.

Get out the hot-glue gun and DIY your wedding day.

Materials:

  • Wine corks
  • A bunch of real or fake flowers, colors fitting your theme
  • Big safety pins
  • A hot-glue gun
  • Scissors or other sharp, poking object

Instructions:

  1. Puncture holes into your wine cork with scissors or other object, as many as needed for the flowers.
  2. Cut stem close to the flower, and then place the flowers in the holes, arranging them how you want it.
  3. Take your glue gun and put a strip of hot glue down the side of the cork. Place the safety pin on the hot glue, with the pin opening facing out. Add more glue to the safety pin to hold it in place.
  4. Let it cool, and then prepare for your wedding day!
